In plumbing, a valve that replaces a tank stopper in a toilet that creates a seal between the tank and the bowl.
A flapper valve creates the watertight seal in the tank that holds the water before and after a flush of a toilet. When one pushes the handle, the flapper raises, allowing the water to flush out the excreted items, the flapper then goes back down and recreates the watertight seal.
